How To Make A Synthetic Wig Look Natural?

People LOVE synthetic wigs for many different reasons, like for a style change, for a cosplay party or for the hair loss issue. But to be honest, we would rather not have the whole world know when we're wearing a wig. Instead, we all want to feel just as beautiful as we had a full head of NATURAL hair.

Luckily, with some time and effort, you can make your synthetic lace front wig look more natural.

1. Choose the lace front cap
A synthetic lace front wig has the lace in front which ensures the wig can be freely parted with a more natural hairline, making it look like the synthetic hair is growing right out of your head. All synthetic wigs on our website has the lace front cap. Check out our blog post to learn more about What Is A Lace Front Wig.

2. Spray a little dry shampoo over the hair to make it less shiny
Synthetic wigs(www.itymahair.com) are made of plastic which often have an unnatural shine. Use the dry shampoo to make the synthetic strands more matte.

3. Pluck the hair
Take a pair of tweezers and carefully pluck a few strands from the parting and hairline to get a more realistic look.

4. Make the baby hair
Baby hairs are those small hairs located around the edges of your hair. Most people will cut and trim the hairline of a wig and create artificial baby hair to make the wig look much more realistic. Check out our tutorial to learn more about How To Make Baby Hair On A Synthetic Lace Front Wig.

5. Blend synthetic hair with natural hair
Lace front wigs are able to mimic a natural hairline but they'll never beat the real hair. So choose a synthetic wig with color matching your own hair color. Apply the wig(www.itymahair.com) one or two inches farther back on your head than you normally did, and then expose your own natural hairline.

6. Style the wig into a braid or low ponytail for a natural look.
Place the synthetic wig on your head and then pull it into a braid or a low ponytail style. Make sure no parts of the wig cap can be seen and use a headband to cover any imperfections in the hair.

7. Replace your synthetic wig every 4-6 months
To be honest, wigs will lose their quality over time no matter how much care you've put on them. So the best way to make your synthetic wig look natural is to replace your wig regularly, normally every 4-6 months.
